Five out of five stars!!!

And the Sierra BMW staff was very helpful with fitting and exchanging sizes when our bodies didn't match the BMW models.

My wife and I bought this riding suit to replace our aging AeroStitch Roadcrafter suits. We were very happy with the Roadcrafters, but were looking for something a bit more fashionable. We were looking for another all weather, year round riding suit. So far, we couldn't be happier with the StreetGuard 3.

Our first outing was a three day trek from Los Angeles up Highway 1, along the Pacific, to Monterey. The weather was chilly by Southern California standards (48 to 60 degrees F). We left the liners in the suit the entire time on this trip. We started out with an electric vest beneath the suit. But that only lasted about 15 minutes, as it was way too warm. (Based on our short experience, the suit would be very comfortable down to freezing temperatures with an electric vest.) After romoving the electric vest, we were down to only the light weight BMW summer functional underwear beneath the StreetGuard 3 suit. It was perfect in this temperature range. As the temperatures approached 60 degrees, we just needed to lower the jacket zipper a bit.

Although this suit is expensive, it is very well made. The pockets are easily accessible and practical. The protection appears to be far superior to the Roadcrafter, although we hope we don't get a chance to test it personally. The armor is very well made and the back protector is very large.

We haven't had a chance to try the suit in the rain. (The Roadcrafter suit really excells in wet weather. Altough we have rain suits, we've never had a need to put them on! ) We are hopeful that this suit will perform as well in the rain as the Roadcrafter. By all accounts, it should. And since the rain proofing is in the outer layer, the outer shell of the suit shouldn't get wet like earlier versions of BMW suits we've owned, which had the zip in Gortex liner.

In our opinion, this suit is much better looking that the Roadcrafter. We're looking forward to many, many miles of ownership.
